The Paralakhemundi police team which had gone to Balangir to collect evidence about ACF Saumya Ranjan Mohapatra has returned to the district after collecting the necessary information.
Paralakhemundi police station IIC Vivekananda Swain said they visited the Livestock Inspectors Training Institute where Saumya's wife Bidyabharati Panda was studying.
The Deputy Director, Clerk and other officials were questioned and their statements were recorded. Police have seized from the institute and further investigations are on from all angles, Swain said.
Meanwhile, the Gajapati branch of the International Human Rights Council has alleged that the investigation into the death of the deceased forest officer is not being conducted in a proper manner by the police and Crime Branch officials.
Council president Alok Kumar Bose and secretary Pranoj Kumar Patnaik in a Press conference alleged
that the ACF’s death occurred in very suspicious circumstances.
Though substantial information about the ACF and his wife have come to the limelight they haven’t been thoroughly investigated by the local police and Crime Branch officials. Otherwise the culprits would have been exposed and brought to book.
