Sunday, 28 February 2021 | PNS | PARALAKHEMUNDI

Two minor boys aged 4 and 6 years of Gajapati district were rescued from Coimbatore of Tamil Nadu by a team of police and Child Protection Unit officials of the Gajapati administration.

They were identified as sons of Sudarsan Nayak of Bhalia Sahi of Mohana block. Sudarshan who was staying in Coimbatore was recently arrested in a domestic violence case.

Sudarsan's father Karana Nayak sought the help of the district administration to rescue the children. On February 21, a team of police and officials from Gajapati after keeping contact with their counterparts in Coimbatore left for the place and rescued the children from roads.

For the rehabilitation of the kids, the Collector and the SP Gajapati meanwhile have taken initiatives and the two boys are now under the custody of the Child Welfare Committee, Gajapati. For their upbringing and studies, the district administration will make necessary arrangements, said DCPO Arun Kumar Tripathy.
