The Uttar Pradesh government has denied any casualty after administration of COVID-19 vaccine anywhere in the state, saying that a ward boy who died a day after taking the vaccine shot had died of heart attack.
“The post-mortem report of the deceased ward boy, who was given COVID-19 vaccine on January 16, has confirmed that he died due to heart attack,” a government spokesman said here on Monday.
The spokesman said that there was no adverse reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine and the health worker collapsed due to a massive heart attack.
Mahipal Singh, 46, a ward boy at Moradabad district hospital, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after he complained of chest pain. He was given COVID-19 vaccine a day earlier. He died in the evening.
The official said that a three-member team of doctors conducted the post-mortem and their report suggested that the death was due to heart attack.
The doctors, however, preserved the viscera.
But the family members of the deceased said that Mahipal Singh had high fever on Saturday after the vaccination and complained of chest pain on Sunday morning.
