Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat said this while virtually attending the 45th foundation day function of GMVN on Wednesday.

The CM said that in order to encourage adventure sports, the corporation will be provided financial assistance for conducting trekking, mountaineering, river rafting, paragliding and other activities and for developing it into a professional institution. Assistance will also be provided for midterm training to enhance the knowledge of the corporation’s personnel in tourism and hotel activities. Similarly, assistance will also be provided to GMVN for fully digitalising its commercial activities and financial transactions with an effective online booking system, maximising digital transaction, enhancing the use of CCTV cameras and incorporating digital locks and other innovations in the hotel business.

Rawat said, “We need to work together to take the state forward. Adopting a professional approach while working diligently is needed to achieve this. A lot can be done in the spheres of pilgrimage, adventure tourism and culture in Uttarakhand. Tourists arriving here should get such services that they go back with good experiences and memories. The tourists should enjoy the tourist spots, food and other aspects of the rich culture of Uttarakhand,” said the CM. Congratulating the officers and personnel of GMVN on the occasion, Rawat said that the corporation can play a big role in the development of the state.
