Thursday, 15 April 2021 | PNS | Lucknow

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Uttar Pradesh government was tirelessly working to ensure a balanced development of all sections of society without discrimination as every citizen of the state was getting the benefit of Central and state government schemes without any discrimination on caste, religion or regional basis.
Paying rich tributes to the architect of the Constitution of India, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, on his 120th birth anniversary, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said: "The UP government is constantly working to provide equality, justice and fraternity, which are fundamental elements of the Constitution of India, to every citizen."
Remembering the role that Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar played in establishing the biggest democracy in the world, the chief minister said that Baba Saheb kept fighting throughout his life for the rights of Dalits and oppressed sections of society, and he always wanted to ensure that they were not deprived of education, which was their fundamental right.
"The state government is also working in the same direction," he said.
Giving a glimpse of the development model of UP, the CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi always dreamt of providing a roof to every homeless person and to fulfill his dream, the UP government was making every possible effort. He pointed out that more than 40 lakh houses had been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The chief minister said that during the last four years, the state government had provided toilets to as many as 2.61 crore poor families, and over 1.57 crore people had been provided free cooking gas connections. He said along with this, electricity connections were provided to 1.38 crore people and 14 crore people were getting ration facility. He said people were reaping the benefits of schemes like Kisan Nidhi, Ayushman Bharat and other schemes of the Bharatiya Janata Party government.
Referring to the dream of Baba Saheb, the chief minister said, "At least 18 Atal residential schools had been set up in 18 divisions of the state where the children of labourers and poor are given state-of-the-art residential education. Also, mass marriage programmes are being organised on a large scale in the state without any discrimination."
