Guv praises Govt's Covid fight, welfare schemes

The Budget Session of fifth Jharkhand Assembly started on Friday with Governor Droupadi Murmu highlighting the achievements of Hemant Soren Government in her 44 minute address. Governor in her address praised the work carried out by the Government, stating that present Government has launched various welfare schemes for poor. She said, “All section of society are developing in Jharkhand and the Government work is being praised by all. As development is core mantra of present Government, focus is on all round development of schedule tribes, schedule caste, backward classes and minorities.”

On the first day of Budget Session, Covid-19 protocols were followed at Assembly. The legislators who reached to participate in the Budget Session were first given masks at the main entrance gate followed by sanitising of their hands. Governor Murmu was welcomed by the speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto with a bouquet. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, parliamentary affairs minister Alamgir Alam and others were present on the occasion. The Governor in her address said that the government has linked all sections to the mainstream of development. Everyone's participation in development is being ensured. She said that the government has zero tolerance policy on corruption. Monitoring mechanisms are being strengthened. The government strives for industrial peace.

Highlighting the works carried out by Soren government during Corona period, the Governor said that State Government with an aim to help migrant workers has started community kitchens, efforts were taken to bring back migrant workers trapped across the Country. She said the State government rendering financial help to migrant workers has also transferred funds in the account of migrant workers through DBT mode. As many as 373 Mukhyamantri Daal Bhat Kendras were set up across the State mainly on highways so that migrant workers reaching the State don’t face the problem of food.

As part of employment generation in extremist affected areas, the government launched skill development scheme. The Governor in her address also highlighted the Soren government’s efforts in power distribution, generation and transmission schemes. Giridih is being developed as Solar City. MGNREGA wages have been revised and increased. The goal is to create eight crore mandays. The Government is also working in the field of water conservation; Birsa Green Village Scheme has been launched to plant saplings. Moreover, the Government has launched much ambitious farmers loan waiver scheme under which farmers loans are waived. The Governor said that Chief Minister Livestock Development Scheme has been started under which cattlemen were given credit cards. The Milk Federation has been expanded. Fisheries are being promoted.

The Governor said that Jharkhand has done better performance in cleanliness survey. Jharkhand has been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF). Jamshedpur has been declared as three-star garbage free city. Convention centre at Dumka sub capital is coming up. The Governor in her address also stated that the State government has launched dhoti, sari and lungi scheme under which people are clothes at concession rate.

The Governor said that sports grounds are being constructed in rural areas. Dialysis centers are being opened in all district hospitals.
