Giridih police arrested hardcore Maoist Jairam Besra with a 40 kg IED during a search operation between Rajaram Bhitta and Jaridih area within limits of Dumri police station area on Friday. 

According to the information, the police got this success on the basis of secret information received by Additional Superintendent of Police Gulshan Tirkey. 

On receipt of the information, two teams were formed under the leadership of SP Amit Renu. One team consisted of the SP and another led by ASP Gulshan Tirkey with the Commandant of the 7th Battalion of CRPF, along with the Assistant Commandant, along with  the police force personnel.

Police sources said that the teams jointly laid siege to Jaridih and Raja Ram Bhitta areas here on Friday and arrested hardcore Maoist Jairam Besra with explosive. 

According to the information, Jairam Besra was trying to harm the security forces by planting this ID in the same area. It was captured on the basis of secret information already received by ASP.

After the arrest, Jairam Besra has admitted his involvement in several major Naxal incidents. 

 Police said that last three months ago, a JCB machine was set ablaze and the workers were beaten up by burning the JCB machine due to lack of levy in an under construction college in Dumri.

Police is currently interrogating Jairam Besra and it is believed that during the interrogation, this hardcore Maoist may disclose details of more Naxal incidents.  However, in recent days, many Maoists arrested had made more revelations with Jairam Besra confessing his name.

According to police sources, Jairam Besra was associated with the squad of Krishna Da, the zonal commander of Dumri-Pirtand and he was involved in levy collection from contractors. 

After the notorious prize Maoist Ajay Mahato left Pirtarnd, Krishna Da has got the responsibility of this entire area.  While Krishna Da, in his squad, had given the responsibility to Jairam Besra, a close confidant, to collect levy from contractors working in Pirtand and Dumri.  Therefore, the arrest of Jairam Besra is being considered as a major achievement by the police.
