In addition to ensuring necessary facilities, sanitation and safety for the Kumbh Mela 2021 in Haridwar, the state government is also focusing on displaying the rich culture and colours of Uttarakhand. Various paintings have been made on the walls and government buildings in Haridwar to depict the religious faith, folk traditions and the grandeur of the state’s ancient culture which will also attract devotees arriving here.

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the state government is committed to holding a divine and grand Kumbh Mela. Attempts are being made so that the crores of devotees who arrive here during the Kumbh Mela, also get to know of the cultural heritage of Uttarakhand, said the CM.

The State government has been undertaking various measures to preserve and encourage the state’s cultural heritage. The Kumbh Mela is being seen as a good opportunity for this. For this purpose, paintings have been made in the Kumbh Mela area on government buildings, walls of bridges, Ghats and other such structures. These paintings depict the cultural wealth and aspects of the religious faith of the state and its people. The purpose behind the paintings is to evoke a spiritual feeling among the visitors while also giving them a glimpse of the traditions, culture and ancient heritage of the state. The task has been done under the Paint My City campaign of the Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA). The State’s Urban Development minister Madan Kaushik said that various organisations have helped in decorating the Kumbh Mela area with paintings. The preparations for the Kumbh Mela are almost complete. It will be a divine and grand Kumbh, added the minister.
