With 234 fresh Covid-19 cases, Haryana’s caseload surged to 2,64,955 on Sunday while one more person succumbed to the virus taking the toll to 2,950 in the state.

One death was reported in Hisar district due to Covid-19, the state’s Health Department’s bulletin stated.

As per the bulletin, a maximum of 73 fresh cases were reported from Gurugram followed by 36 in Faridabad.There were 2510 active cases in the state till the evening. 259495 patients including 286 in the last 24 hours have so far recovered from the virus in the state.The state has a recovery rate of 96.62 per cent while the fatality rate stood at 1.09 percent.Out of 116 critical patients admitted in the hospitals, 102 patients were on oxygen support while 14 were on ventilator, the health bulletin said.

According to the bulletin, the fatality rate is recorded at 1.11 percent in Haryana. The case-doubling rate in Haryana stood at 99 days, COVID positive rate was 5.52 per cent and recovery rate was recorded at 97.94 per cent.

As many as 48 lakh samples have been tested till date in Haryana, it added.

44 FRESH CASES IN CHANDIGARH

44 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in the union territory of Chandigarh on Sunday taking the total infections to 20295.

In the last 24 hours, no death has been reported in the city due to the virus. The death toll due to COVID-19 stands at 327, as per the Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin.

26 males and 18 females were tested positive in the last 24 hours. There were 241 active cases till the evening. 31 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries to 19727, the bulletin stated.

192376 samples have so far been tested in the city. A total of 703 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours and the report of 52 was awaited, the bulletin added.
