Haryana reports highest ever daily cases

Haryana on Sunday reported 3440 fresh infections, the highest single-day spike since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

Earlier, it was on November 20 last year, when the state had reported the highest 3104 cases in a single day.

16 more people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 3268 in the state while the caseload surged to 316881.

“Three deaths were reported in Jind, two each in Bhiwani, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Karnal and Panipat, one death each was reported in Sirsa, Gurugram and Hisar, the state’s Health Department’s bulletin stated.Among the COVID-19 patients, there were 263 critical COVID-19 patients in the state out of which 217 were on oxygen support while 46 were on ventilators.

Gurugram district continued to be worst affected and recorded the highest number of infections at 1084 followed by 445 in Faridabad and 264 in Karnal. Among other districts, Karnal reported 264 cases, Kurukshetra 194 cases, Ambala 183, Panipat 110, Hisar 177, Sonepat 155, Panchkula 116, Yamunanagar 149 cases, Jind 138 cases.

The active cases crossed 20000-mark in the state and was recorded at 20981 till the evening. The worst affected district -Gurugram reported the highest number of active cases at 5548 followed by 2167 in Karnal and 1947 in Faridabad, the bulletin stated.The fatality rate was recorded at 1.03 percent in Haryana.

 

The COVID positive rate was 4.82 per cent and recovery rate was recorded at 92.35 percent, as per the health bulletin.

Till date, 292632 patients (including 1896 in the last 24 hours) have recovered from the virus and been discharged from hospitals in the state.

Over 65.93 lakh samples have been tested till date in Haryana, the bulletin stated.

Chd reports three death, 402 fresh COVID cases

The union territory of Chandigarh reported three COVID-19 deaths as 402 fresh positive cases surfaced on Sunday.

As per the Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin, the total case tally reached 30743and the death toll stood at 399.

There were 3307 active cases till the evening. 357 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries to 27037.

3.40 lakh samples have so far been tested in the city. A total of 3186 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours and the report of 172 was awaited, the bulletin added.
