High-rise buildings become Covid hotspot in coal city

As the number of corona positive patients as well as corona related deaths  are increasing, the high rise buildings and dense colonies have emerged as hot spots in the coal city.

In last two days four deaths have been here including a noted dentist Dr KS  Chang  of *Katras locality and  JP Dasaundhi an advocate by profession  of Barwadda    besides two others including an elderly woman in different covid hospitals .With these death the death from Corona in coal city has reached 138 .While  Dr Chang died while treatment at Ranchi the advocate breathed his last at SNMMMCH.

The number of active cases too has crossed 8600 mark here  including 505 undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

Incidentally ,high-rise buildings have emerged as new hot spots of corona.positive cases besides densely populated areas.

In the last one week over forty  positive cases that surfaced after tests happen to be from such buildings . In a few cases both husband and wife have been found positive but work of contact tracing in those  buildings have not begun as yet.

Civil surgeon Gopal Das said,  contact tracing is the responsibility of ICDS cell and they can only say why there is delay in tracing of contacts who came in contact with positive persons.

Meanwhile, deputy commissioner US SINGH informed that 'Himmat app' has been launched in Dhanbad for those in home isolation. This app would guide them in different ways including providing them medical  advice too.

Singh said , 60 bed ICU at Sadar Hospital premises would be made operational within a weeks time for critically ill patients.
