Himachal Government has decided to organise the state-level Himachal Day function on April 15 at Padhar in district Mandi amid the surge in Covid-19 cases in the State.
The function will be presided over by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
Earlier, the State Government had decided to postpone the Swarnim Himachal Rath Yatra which was scheduled to start on April 15 on the occasion of Himachal Diwas and as a part of celebrations of golden jubilee of Statehood of Himachal Pradesh.
An official spokesman said that the state-level Himachal Day function will be held on April 15 at Padhar and would be presided over by the Chief Minister. Jal Shakti Minister Mahinder Singh Thakur will also attend the function at Padhar.
Apart from this, district level functions will be held across the state.
The spokesman said that Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar will preside over the function at Dharamshala in district Kangra, Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj at Nahan in district Sirmaur, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sarveen Chaudhary at Una, Technical Education Minister Dr. Ram Lal Markanda at Keylong in district Lahaul Spiti, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar at Hamirpur and Industries Minister Bikram Singh at Solan.
Education Minister Govind Singh Thakur will preside over the function at Kullu, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal at Reckong Peo in district Kinnaur, MPP and Power Minister Sukh Ram Chaudhary at Chamba, Forest Minister Rakesh Pathania at Shimla, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rajinder Garg at Bilaspur and Deputy Speaker HP Vidhan Sabha Hans Raj would attend the function in Chamba alongwith MPP & Power Minister Sukh Ram Chaudhary, the spokesman added.
