As Raipur has emerged as the biggest Covid hotspot in Chhattisgarh, the district Collector on Tuesday asked health officials to admit all Covid patients 55 years and above in hospital.
He gave the directives at a meeting of nodal officers, zone commissioners, incident commanders and health department officials, a press release said.
On Monday, 1,702 fresh Covid cases were detected in Raipur and 20 deaths of Covid patients were recorded. So far, 975 Covid positive persons have died in Raipur.
While reviewing the testing status in containment zones, he told health officials to use Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) vehicles and carry antigen kits while entering the containment zones.
“If during test any person above 55 years is found Covid positive, they should be admitted in hospital for their effective treatment."
He said stickers and ribbons should be pasted outside the hoses of all Covid patients in home isolation. If patients in home isolation are found outside their homes, they will face FIR.
