Hot, humid weather for want of rain in State; no monsoon likley

Weather conditions turned hot and humid after spell of rainfall ceased for the past 4-5 days in the State and State capital while rainfall which was looking to remain deficit was narrowed by unusual rainfall in the month of September.

September of 2021 the second wettest September in 27 years According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the country received 35 per cent above normal rainfall while Madhya Pradesh received 31 per cent above normal.

By the end of August, many feared that the monsoon could end in a major deficit but total deficit was 9 per cent while in Madhya Pradesh it was 7 per cent. But unusual rainfall in September brought this shortfall normal in Madhya Pradesh (15 per cent less in East Madhya Pradesh and 15 per cent more in West Madhya Pradesh) by the end of the season.

In this way, in the context of Madhya Pradesh and the entire state, September 2021 was the second wettest September in 27 years, in this month the withdrawal of monsoon starts.There is a possibility of withdrawal of Monsoon in some parts of Madhya Pradesh in the next 3 to 4 days. There is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Madhya Pradesh till October 10, after which the weather is likely to remain mainly dry.

Warning of thunder lightening and striking has been issued by   Hoshangabad and Shahdol divisions and Sagar, Damoh, Sehore, Bhopal, Burhanpur, Ujjain, Dewas, Guna and Shivpuri.
