Residence of a BMC employee at Galla Mandi Chowki under Jehangirabad police station was targeted by miscreants and valuables worth Rs 1 lakh were burgled on Sunday.
Police said that the victim Prem Narayan Vanshkar had gone to attend rituals after last rites of his sister at Chola Mandir and when he returned on valuables were found burgled.The victim in his complaint stated that he along with family had gone to attend rituals and when he returned door was found open and locks broken. On entering the house victim found that the valuables were targeted by the miscreants.Victim approached police and lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The victim works with BMC. After checking the valuables victim found that Rs 32000 cash and gold and silver jewelry were burgled. The total loss in the burglary is around Rs 1 lakh claimed the victim.
Police suspects that the burglars were aware regarding the whereabouts of the family and committed the burglary when the family was away.
