Hry reports more recoveries than fresh Covid cases for second consecutive day

In a positive development, Haryana reported more number of recoveries than fresh Covid-19 cases for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.

The state reported 11637 fresh Covid cases while 15728 persons recovered from the virus. The death toll due to Covid-19 however remained high with 144 people succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours, as per the state's health bulletin.

A day before, 161 deaths, 12718 Covid cases and 16192 recoveries were reported in the state.

According to the health bulletin, the death toll due to Covid-19 has reached 5910 while the state’s cumulative tally stood at 640252. There were 108997 active cases in the state.

Rohtak has reported maximum of 18 fatalities followed by 16 in Mahendragarh, 13 in Gurugram, 14 in Karnal, 12 in Hisar, 10 in Bhiwani, nine in Ambala, eight each in Faridabad and Jind districts, six in Panchkula and Charkhi Dadri, five in Kurukshetra, four each in Panipat and Jhajjar, three in Sonepat, Fatehabad and Yamunanagar and two in Sirsa. A maximum of 2659 fresh infections were reported in the worst affected district of Gurugram followed by 1255 cases in Faridabad and 928 in Hisar.

The state recorded a positivity rate of 21.47 percent on Tuesday.

The cumulative positivity rate was recorded at 8.07 while the recovery rate stood at 82 percent in Haryana. The fatality rate in the state was recorded at 0.92 percent.

Till date, more than 79.84 lakh samples have been tested in Haryana, the bulletin stated.
