Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal is organizing an exhibition centered on the ‘Maa Nanda Devi Jatra’ programme coordinator of the exhibition, RM Nayal told that, Roopkund and Hemkund mountain peaks are one of the main sacred sites of Nanda Devi in Uttarakhand.

Hemavati is mentioned as the Himalayan daughter in the Canopanishad. In which Shailputri Nanda has been named Yoga Maya and Shakti Swaroopa. Maa Nanda has also been considered as the green goddess who gives happiness and prosperity. Maa Nanda Devbhoomi is synonymous with the eternal faith of Uttarakhand. This is the reason that the names of many rivers, mountain ranges and cities here are also named after Maa Nanda.

Maa Nanda is worshiped as Shakti Swaroopa Maa Parvati. The Nanda Devi fair starts on the Shukla Shashthi of the month of Bhadra. The incarnation of the Goddess on which she is called is Dangariya of the Goddess. Idols are made from banana trees to worship Maa Nanda. For the selection of banana trees, Dangaria takes rice and flowers in hand and throws them towards banana trees.

The tree that moves is worshiped and brought to the mother's temple. The construction of idols of the Goddess begins on the day of Saptami. While Ashtami is honored with the pran pratishta of the idol. A grand fair is also organized in the Nanda Devi campus during this time. Thousands of people join this Jatra. In this exhibition, many exhibit, photographs, costumes, instruments related to Jatra will be seen.
