Manoj Kumar assumes charge as CMD of CMPDI
Manoj Kumar assumes charge as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of CMPDI. Prior to this, he worked in different capacities in CMPDI. Kumar graduated in Mining Engineering from IIT-BHU, Varanasi in 1986. He started his career in the coal industry from Korba area of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) in the year 1986. Kumar obtained First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency in the year 1990. He has vast experience both in underground and opencast mining and played a lead role in planning of India’s biggest coal mines like Gerva, Kusumunda and Dipika Mines. He has been awarded as the best General Manager at Coal India Level in the year 2019. He also toured Poland, Australia and Kazakhstan in official capacity.
Video journalist Baijnath passes away
Baijnath Mahto, a video journalist working with a news channel passed away during treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences here on Monday. Biajnath was critically injured after miscreants attacked him on September 10. He was admitted in the hospital and was recovering, but on Monday he succumbed to the injuries. Prominent people of the State including Governor Ramesh Bais, CM Hemant Soren expressed grief on the death of the journalist and paid condolences.
Intensive ticket checking drive in ECR divisions
For the prevention of travel without ticket/proper authority, East Central Railway is continuously running campaigns so that passengers traveling without ticket/proper authority can be discouraged. General Manager Anupam Sharma has been issuing instructions from time to time in high level meetings that a close watch should be kept on the passengers traveling without ticket or proper authorisation so that passengers traveling with proper tickets do not face any kind of difficulties. In this sequence, a special ticket checking campaign is being run at stations and trains by forming separate teams of officers in five divisions of ECR. Extensive ticket checking was done in all the divisions from September 24 to 30. During this, a total of 20337 cases were reported without ticket travel, due to which revenue of more than Rs one crore was received in the form of fine.
Blood Donation Camp organized at XISS
Rotaract Club of Social Revolution (RCSR), student club of Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi organized its 5th Annual Zonal Blood Donation Camp in the campus on October 2. The event saw a good turnout and a total of about 80 units of blood were collected zonal-wise. Director, XISS Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur graced the event along with Life Saver Jharkhand- Atul Gera, Ankur, and Mohit Chopra; XISS Faculty, Dr Viplava Thakur and RCSR Club advisor- Rtr. Rtn. Diptesh Nawal. The dignitaries shared the importance of blood donation and saving lives.
Bokaro Archer wins Silver Medal in Archery
In the 40th Senior National Archery Championship 2021 held at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on 1st and 2nd October, archer Anku Kumari from Sail Day Boarding Archery Centre, Bokaro competed against her rivals in both individual and group categories where she shown remarkable performance by winning silver medal. Anku Kumari met Sameer Swarup, Executive Director (Personnel and Administration), BSL and shared her experiences related to the National Archery Championship. Expressing happiness on this achievement of Anku Kumari, Swaroop congratulated her and motivated to achieve future goals . During this occasion General Manager (Liaison & Administration) N.A. Saifi, Senior Manager (Sports & Civil Amenities) S. Rajak were present.
