ECR GM holds meeting with top officials

General Manager of East Central Railway, Anupam Sharma held a review meeting with major Heads of Departments of ECR at the Headquarters, Hajipur. In this meeting, all the important topics were discussed in detail. This was his first meeting with the higher officials after taking over as the General Manager of ECR. Addressing the officials, the GM said that it will be our priority to complete the goods loading, passenger convenience, safety and construction projects within the stipulated time-frame. In this sequence, all the major heads of departments apprised the GM about the achievements of their respective departments and the work being done and the target set. DRMs of Sonpur, Samastipur, Danapur, Dhanbad and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay divisions of ECR also attended the meeting through video conferencing. The GM said that we have to pay special attention to further increase in freight traffic. In this sequence, he stressed upon the Vijnesh Development Unit (VDU) to make rapid efforts in this direction for further increase in freight traffic.

GM SER holds high level meeting

General Manager SER Archana Joshi chaired a high level meeting on Monday with the heads of all the departments of SER at Garden Reach, Kolkata. DRMs of Adra, Chakradharpur, Kharagpur and Ranchi also attended the meeting through video conference. During the introductory meeting, the GM said, “All steps should be taken to ensure the safety of the passengers and to achieve the target of loading of goods as set by the Railway Board". She stressed upon optimum utilization of resources and close monitoring of complex infrastructure projects like new line, double line, electrification etc. She also stressed on running the passenger trains at the maximum permissible speed. The GM directed the senior officers to make all-round efforts to increase the revenue. In this regard, the General Manager also emphasised on generation of non-fare revenue sources.

XISS holds online Inaugural session of new Batch

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi welcomed its new batch of PGDM 2021-2023 students in an online inaugural ceremony of the new academic session on Monday August 02, 2020. Students have joined XISS across its four programmes namely Human Resources Management, Rural Management, Finance Management, and Marketing Management. Fr. Xavier Soreng, Superior, Dr. Joseph Marianus Kujur, Director, Provincial and Governing Body Chairman, Fr. Ajit Xess, Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh, Director IIM Tiruchirapalli, interacted with the students on the occasion. The session was attended by all Faculty members, Staff members, Alumni members, and students of the new batch. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Pradeep Kerketta, Assistant Director XISS, while the session was coordinated by Dr. Pinaki Ghosh, HoP Marketing Management Programme and the session was smoothly conducted by Dr. Arana Kausar.

Son kills father in a minor dispute

In a bizarre incident, Ramakant Choubey (58), a resident of Sopodera under Parsudih police station, was assaulted by his drug addict son Sumit Choubey on Sunday night. The family members rushed Ramakant Choubey to MGM Hospital for treatment. However, the victim died during treatment. The accused son had also reached MGM Hospital sensing trouble. However, till the filing of the report, a written complaint has not been lodged at the police station. Meanwhile, the wife of the deceased has demanded strict punishment for her son. Police station in-charge Vimal Kindo said the family members of the deceased have informed about the incident verbally. In relation to the incident, Meena Devi, the wife of the deceased, said her son is addicted to drugs. Because of this there used to be fights between father and son.

All Nobilian Alumni Association’s plantation drive

All Nobilian Alumni Association launched plantation drive with an aim to make their city greener. Mayank Singh, founder member said, during the four day drive Gulmohar and Neem saplings have been planted at different branches of De Nobili schools located at different locations. Gulmohar is known for its beauty and Neem for its purity, he said. He said  Father Michael Fernandes Director of all De Nobili Schools in Dhanbad besides  principals of De Nobili Sindri, Koradih, CMRI, Maithon, Mugma, CTPS and  Bhuli have appreciated  the move of the former students .The drive would conclude with plantation drive at CMRI campus of the schools, he said.
