Six IAS officers transferred

The State government on Tuesday transferred and posted six IAS officers manning different departments in the State. Transport Secretary, Kamal Kishore Soan, has been made Secretary, Scheduled Tribes, Castes, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department. Secretary, Department of Tourism, Art-Culture, Sports, Youth Affairs, Pooja Singhal has been appointed as Secretary, Industries Department. Singhal will be in additional charge of Secretary, Mines and Geology Department. Amitabh Kaushal, Secretary, Scheduled Tribes, Castes, Minorities, Backward Classes Welfare Department, has now been made Secretary, Department of Tourism, Art-Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs. Along with this, Amitabh Kaushal will also be in the additional charge of Secretary, Disaster Management Department. Secretary, Department of Mines and Geology, K. Srinivasan has now been appointed as Secretary, Transport Department. Amit Kumar, who is waiting for posting, has been made Excise Commissioner. With this, Amit Kumar will hold the additional charge of Managing Director of Beverages Corporation. Himanshu Mohan, Deputy Director, Shri Krishna Institute of Public Administration has been appointed as Secretary, Jharkhand Public Service Commission.

‘Memoir’ of Late Fr. Stan Swamy released at XISS

A book titled I AM NOT A SILENT SPECTATOR – “Why Truth has become so bitter, Dissent so intolerable, Justice so out of reach?” – a ‘Memoir’ of Late Fr. Stan Swamy was released at Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi campus on Tuesday. The book release function was organized by the Central Zone Jesuit Provinces in association with XISS. The book is edited and compiled by Dr Fr. Joseph Xavier, Director of Indian Social Institute, Bangalore. Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas graced the event as the Chief Guest and said: “Being part of this function is like being part of Fr. Stan’s life. He has made us proud, as he carried out the message of Jesus and fought for people’s rights and truth. He stood for the rights of the adivasis and the under trails.” Guest of honour, Dr Fr. Stanislaus Jerome D’Souza, President of the Jesuit Conference of South Asia along with all the Central Zone Jesuit Provincials were also present during the book release function.

Awareness programme for women

Inner Wheel of Jamshedpur Zest conducted an awareness programme at Dobo village regarding health and personal hygiene of women. Around 50 women and girls participated in the programme.  Pranic healer and counsellor Rimple Sachdev addressed the participants. She explained briefly to all village women and girls. President Preeti Khara, treasurer Sonal Khara and past president Nibha Mishra were present.  Disinfectants were also sprinkled in lakes, ponds and wells of Dobo village
