Another step to save environment by ECR

East Central Railway is always ready to use state-of-the-art technology and protect the environment. In this episode, the quick watering system is being used at Darbhanga station to fill water in the coaches of the train. With the use of this system, not only the wastage of water will be controlled but the coaches of the train can be filled with water in a very short time. In this way, by stopping the wastage of water, important contribution can be made in water conservation as well as environmental protection. The accelerated water system consists of three high-pressure pumps that supply water to the hydrant on the platform. It also has advanced automation and control system for operation of this plant which includes gradual start of pumps as well as variable speed control for each pump. The control of this system is also available on mobile app for remote operation. The time taken to fill water in trains is much less as compared to earlier arrangement, now it takes only 10 minutes to completely water 24 coach trains. This will also help in improving punctuality of Mail/Express trains.
