Retired railway employees to get Covid vaccine

Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway has decided to provide Covid vaccine to all retired railway employees starting from Friday at its Central Hospital Mancheswar in Bhubaneswar. It will again start from Monday onwards. An appeal has been made to the retired employees to register their names at the Central Hospital from 0900hrs to 1600hrs on weekdays except Government holidays. The appeal also mentioned that the employees should submit their identities like Aadhaar card (compulsory), PAN card, driving licence, passport, RELHS card and should keep their Aadhaar-linked mobile number for OTP.

Health camp held for poor, senior citizens in B’pur

Brahmapur: A free health checkup and treatment camp was organised here at Gopabandhu Bhavan on Thursday. The camp was sponsored and coordinated by Brahmapur Mahanagar Youth BJD vice-president SA Khallil. Hundreds of poor and senior citizens attended the camp to avail free healthcare by a team of specialist doctors. A number of tests like sugar, BP, BMD, eye, dental and neuropathy VPT were conducted. A separate blood donation camp was also held where hundreds of local youths voluntarily donated blood.

172 B’pur ITI students join Suzuki Motor in Gujarat 

Brahmapur: A new batch of 172 students of the Berhampur ITI left for Gujarat to join Suzuki Motor on March 2. UCP Engineering School Principal Dr Rajat Kumar Panigrahi and the Brahmapur ITI Principal waived green flags to see off the students at the ITI campus. The students were chosen in the campus selection process held in December 2020 and are from trades like fitter, electrician, machinist and diesel mechanic. These students will get a monthly salary of Rs 19,500.

IFFCO observes National Safety Day

Paradip: For safety awareness amongst its employees, contractors and workers, the IFFCO Paradeep unit organised a programme on Thursday to observe the 50th National Safety Day. Assistant Director of Factories & Boilers CK Dalai as chief guest urged the employees to abide by safety culture in the organisation. Unit head KJ Patel in his keynote address advised the employees to be vigilant and take utmost care while on job to avoid any untoward incidence which may results in an accident. JGM (production and safety) RK Pandey gave the welcome address. Senior Manager (f &s) SK Kamble presented the Annual Safety Report.

Safety Day observed in Bhushan Plant

Sambalpur: The 50th National Safety Day was observed in the plant of Bhushan Power & Steel Ltd on Thursday. The main function was organised in front of fire and safety department of the plant where unit head P Sasindran unfurled the safety flag and stressed the need for keeping safety as a top priority. Among others who spoke at the function were administration head KB Singh, factory manager Niranjan Mahapatra and safety & fire head Ashok Biswal. Employees and staff took safety oath. A detailed plan was chalked for a week-long celebration till March 10.
