Over 50% ECR employees vaccinated

East Central Railway Administration is fully alert to the health of its employees in this difficult phase of Covid-19. General Manager Lalit Chandra Trivedi, in a virtual meeting with the Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers in the past, had instructed to take special precautions regarding the health of the railwaymen and to take necessary steps in this regard. The GM emphasized on priority vaccination of railwaymen to protect against Covid-19. The programme of vaccination is being carried out as a campaign on ECR, as a result of which vaccination has been provided to about 51 per cent of the railway personnel eligible for vaccination till May 13, 2021 at the headquarters of East Central Railway and all the five divisions and factories. Under the vaccination campaign, up to May 14, out of 81,635 employees of ECR, 40,661 employees were given this vaccine in various railway hospitals. Among them, out of 2564 officers / employees working in the headquarters, 1248 railway workers were given Covid vaccination. A large vaccination campaign is also being conducted in the mandals.

 

100th O2 Express passes through ECR stations

Accelerating the efforts of Indian Railways to run Oxygen Express trains in various states of the country, East Central Railway has been instrumental in strengthening the joint war against Covid and providing relief to Covid patients and their families by transporting liquid medical oxygen. From April 19 till now, 100 trains have run through Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Jn, Gaya, Daltonganj, Tori and other stations of East Central Railway to various states of the country. Of these, 49 loaded oxygen expresses reached Varanasi, Lucknow, Delhi and other cities of North India. Increased oxygen availability at these sites helped in the treatment of corona patients.

 

Man dies from snake bite in Giridih

In a tragic incident, a 60-year-old man died after he was bitten by a snake in Adwara area of Giridih district in Jharkhand. What was shocking was that the relatives of the victim took him to several tantriks instead of a hospital for treatment after the snakebite.The incident seems to be another case of superstition taking away an innocent life. The incident took place on Friday afternoon, when a snake bit the man at the village of Bagodar police station area.  The name of the deceased is Ramdhan Mahato. Even after Mahto's death, the relatives again sought the help of a tantrik to try to revive the victim.
