13.09 MT freight shipped by Dhanbad Division

Dhanbad Division of East Central Railway carried 13.09 MT freight in the month of November, which is 3.48 per cent more than 12.65 MT during the corresponding month of last year. In terms of rakes/day, 110.91 rakes/day loaded during this month is 3.71 per cent more than the 106.9 rakes/day load during corresponding month of last year and it is the highest number of goods loaded in the month of November of any year. Similarly, during the month of November, on an average, 104 rakes/day of coal was loaded in Dhanbad division, which is 5.94 per cent higher than the 98.2 rakes/day load during the corresponding month of the previous year and is the highest in November of any year. The average interchange achieved by Dhanbad Division in the month of November was 305 rakes/day, which is 8.54 per cent higher as compared to 281 rakes/day achieved in the same period last year. This is the highest number of interchanges in any November of any year so far.

Rs 18 Cr revenue by ticket checking in Samastipur

Rs 18.84 crore revenue has been earned by Samastipur Division of East Central Railway in the last 4 months (during August, September, October and November, 2021) due to ticket checking and arrest of passengers traveling without proper authority. About 94,193 cases of traveling without ticket/with proper authorization came to light by Samastipur division during ticket checking in the month of November only and the division earned revenue of Rs 6.17 crore. It may be noted that in the five divisions of East Central Railway, ticket checking is being done continuously to nab the passengers traveling without ticket checking and without proper authority and it will continue in future also.

UFBU to hold protest against privatisation

United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) held a meeting on Wednesday chaired by member of State Bank of India Officers Union, Sunil Lakra. During the meeting it was decided that the members of the union will sit in protest at Zakir Hussain Park in the State Capital on coming December, 3 against privatisation of Nationalised banks by the Central Government.
