OREAT office inaugurated at Toshali Bhawan
Bhubaneswar: Justice Vineet Saran of the Supreme Court and Chief Justice of High Court of Orissa Dr Justice S Muralidhar along with the Odisha Real Estate Appellate Tribunal (OREAT) Chairperson inaugurated a permanent office of the OREAT at A-1 Block, 7th Floor, Toshali Bhawn, Bhubaneswar, on Sunday.
YRC holds blood donation camp for dengue patients
Bhubaneswar: Many dengue patients are under treatment in hospitals and clinics of different cities. Keeping this in view, a blood donation programme was organised by the Youth Red Cross unit of Sastri Smruti Degree College at the Jamadsuan Upper Primary school, Puri. YRC Counsellor Kamal Kumar Dash coordinated the programme. YRC Counsellor BJB Degree College Itishree Sundara, Lecturer Pabitra Mohan Dash, school teacher Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Santosh Kumar Paikray, Pradipta Das, Braja Kishore Paikray and other volunteers helped in th programme. The Central Red Cross Blood Bank collected thirty units of blood.
Biswakarma Puja at Paradip with Covid guidelines
Paradip: There were no usual celebrations of Biswakarma Puja in the puja pandals here this year due to the Covid restrictions. Each institution had its own office puja in compliance with the Covid norms. The Puja was observed at the office premises of Zero Point on behalf of the East India Oil Refinery Workers’ Union, a leading labour organisation. Under the supervision of union president and BJD State secretary Santosh Kumar Patnaik, a puja was held with a small number of members. The immersion festival was celebrated on Sunday. Union secretary Ranjan Pallai coordinated the festival.
Coast Guard takes up coastal cleanup at Paradip
Paradip: The Coast Guard unit in Paradip took up coastal cleanup programmee near the Light House in collaboration with IFFCO and the Marine Police force. Officials involved in the campaign said that as the sea has become a dumping ground for all kinds of industrial and general wastes, it poses a grave threat to both marine and human life and harms the environment. “It’s our turn to clean the wastes; and with the help of hundreds of various schools, colleges, NGOs, and corporate houses, the Coast Guard of both Paradip and Gopalpur unit started the initiative,” they said.
