Inter-college and inter-school speech competition held

An inter-college and inter-school speech competition was organized by Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy, Culture Department under "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" in which students of colleges and schools of different cities of the state participated.

The jury of the speech competition included Prof. Bilquis Shad and Dr. Anisa Khatoon. Arshad Multani of DAAV, Indore got first, Ruby Khatoon of Geetanjali Girls College, Bhopal at the inter-college level. Second and Sara Masood of Maharani Laxmi Bai Girls College, Bhopal was awarded the third prize, while at the inter-school level, Tyeb Ansari of LGS School, Bhopal got the first and Madiha Hasan Khan, a student of LGS School, got the second prize.

In the beginning of the programme Nusrat Mehdi, Director of Urdu Academy, welcomed the guests and highlighted the objectives of the event. She said that at this time the whole country is celebrating 75 years of freedom under the Amrit Mahotsav.

On this occasion, Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy had organized online inter-school and inter-college speech competition on topics related to independence (based on the role of Urdu language in the freedom movement and the sacrifice of freedom fighters), through which we aimed to encourage students of the state.

Appreciating the efforts of Urdu Academy, senior writer Devi Saran, who presided over the program, said that by organizing such programs, the spirit of enthusiasm and courage instills in the children.

Urdu language played an important role in the freedom movement. The slogan of Inquilab Zindabad was in Urdu only. Speech in Urdu has its own aspect and it has a greater impact on the people or on the listener.
