The state government has disbursed a sum of Rs 1,382.53 crore to 24,117 eligible individual beneficiaries and 1,822 self help groups (SHGs) as interest free loan in last one year. This information was provided by the cooperatives minister Dhan Singh Rawat in the house on Thursday. The cooperative banks provide an interest free loan of Rs three lakh to the individuals and Rs five lakh to the SHGs. In response to a question of Jhabreda MLA, Deshraj Karnwal, the minister informed that 39,184 Scheduled Caste (SC) and 10,813 Scheduled Tribes (ST) have received the benefit of interest free loan in the state. He said that the government has targeted to disburse Rs five crore to SC and Rs two crore for the ST under the scheme of interest free loan.
