Invest UP to showcase state in Dubai Expo

Uttar Pradesh will showcase itself as the most favoured destination for investment at the Dubai Expo in United Arab Emirates (UAE). The expo will be held in October this year.

Dubai is one of the constituent units of the UAE.

Global leaders in different sectors and top multinational companies, financial institutions and global investors will participate in the expo. Global companies from construction, electronics, communication and telecom, tourism, real estate and solar energy will showcase their latest products and technology at the expo.

India will also participate in the Dubai Expo through Invest India and UP being the largest state of the country has started making preparations for the global event. Invest UP has recently held several preparatory meetings in this connection.

Invest UP, earlier known as Udyog Bandhu, is an organisation of the state government dedicated towards promoting and facilitating investment in the state, besides being a grievance redressal platform for investors and for solving the problems of existing and up-coming industries.

Official sources said Invest UP would showcase Uttar Pradesh as the most favoured destination for investment and starting new business. UP will particularly project itself as a place for investment on the ground of its good ranking in terms of ease of doing business (EoDB). UP is ranked at number 2 in EoDB in India. 

The Dubai Expo 2021 is expected to run for several weeks. It was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Official sources said as many as 1,000 companies from 100 nations were expected to participate in the mega event.

The global leaders in different sectors of economy besides showcasing their products and technology would also scout for new deals and scope for investment in different countries.

The sources said UP being a huge market. By rapidly expanding its infrastructure like the internal airport at Jewar, several expressways, availability of electricity and skilled labour, UP can offer attractive deals to global investors, they added.
