Chhattisgarh’s livestock owner Madhuri Janghel and Artificial Insemination Technician Dularuram Sahu were on Friday conferred the Gopal Ratna Award at a function at Anand in Gujarat.
The award of national repute is given by Animal Husbandry and Dairying Ministry of the Union government for exemplary work in animal husbandry and livestock development.
The award was given by Union Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Parshottam Rupala on the occasion of birth centenary function of Dr Verghese Kurien, known as the father of White Revolution in India.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Animal Husbandry Minister Ravindra Choubey have congratulated Janghel and Sahu.
Janghel belongs to Mura village in Dhamtari district while Janghel hails from village Sandi in Rajnandgaon district.
