The Journalists’ Development Council of India (JDCI) held a plantation drive in collaboration with the Rotary Club, Royal at the Vani Vihar campus. Participating in the programme, JDCI national chairman World Odisha Society chairman Kishore Dwibedi urged all working journalists to join the JDCI.
OUWJ vice-president Rajani Kant Samantray informed that the main aim and objective of JDCI is to finalise the logo and convene the first- ever Indian Journalists’ Congress in Odisha.
JDCI State chief Gopal Krushna Mohapatra lauded the role of the forum. Utkal Journalists’ Association president Bibhuti Bhushan Kar expressed his anguish that though the media fraternity has been branded as the fourth pillar of democracy, so far there is no Constitutional or legal sanctity about their status.
President of Rotary Club Royal Ajay Kumar Patnaik extended his all- out support and cooperation to the JDCI.
