JMM attacks BJP for using Netaji to get political mileage in WB poll

Sunday, 24 January 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in the State targeted the BJP over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Kolkata rally just before the West Bengal assembly elections. JMM Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya on Saturday said that at present the BJP is connecting communist-socialist thinkers with its Sangh ideology.

Addressing a press meet at the party headquarter, Bhattacharya said that just before the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, many such people were seen in PM's program now, who were never seen before. He said that just before the assembly elections, it is completely condemnable that BJP is terming some intellectuals of Bengal or Eastern India as their party’s followers.

"There can be a fight of ideology in the parties but it is not right to make someone your own just by looking at the election season. Whether it is Ramakrishna Paramahamsa or Loknath Baba, Swami of Madhva Sampradaya, Ravindra Nath Tagore, Vivekananda or Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. BJP is calling everyone their own. The BJP should read the history of the Sangh ," Bhattacharya said.

The party Spokesperson also said that it has never happened earlier that BJP's leaders pronounced even name of Neta Ji but just to get political mileage in West Bengal elections the party celebrating his birth anniversary. Neta Ji was Congress Party's leader and after leaving Congress he founded Forward Block which carries the Communist ideology but he never belonged to Sangh, he added.
