JMM reconstitutes District Committees ahead of Panchayat polls

Following the instruction of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Supremo Shibu Soren, the party has formed new district committees in 22 districts of the State on Sunday.

The party formed the committees in Seraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, Giridih, Deoghar, Garhwa, Palamu, Lohardaga, Koderma, Jamtara, Simdega, Pakur, Sahebganj, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Chatra, Godda, Latehar, Gumla, Khunti, Ramgarh and Ranchi.

Mushtaq Alam has been made district president of Ranchi. Biru Tirkey has got the position of the Vice President. The party announced its presidents as Zubair Ahmed in Khunti, Vinod Kisku in Ramgarh, Bhushan Tirkey in Gumla and other names of the district Party President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The party’s district committees have been asked to constitute or reconstitute block committees within 10 days.

According to a letter issued by the Party General Secretary, Vinod Kumar Pandey, the district committee will constitute the block committees. ‘The newly formed block committee will constitute Panchayat Samitis on the basis of election process or consensus.

The newly formed district committee will hold meeting with the office bearers and members of the party’s central committee under the district after that the names of the office bearers will be recommended for the expansion of the district committee,” he added.

Meanwhile, JMM started preparation for its 12th Convention which will be held on December 18 at Sohray Bhawan of the State Capital.
