Khattar OK’s 5% hike in honorary pension for retired teaching and non-teaching staff of Aided Colleges

Sunday, 21 November 2021 | PNS | Chandigarh

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved an increase in the honorarium pension by 5 percent for the retired teaching and non-teaching staff working in Aided Colleges across the state.

This increase will be made every year from 1 November 2021 and with this decision, all retired teaching and non-teaching employees of Aided Colleges will get relief.

An official spokesperson on Saturday said that this was a long standing demand of the retired teaching and non-teaching staff of Aided Colleges. At present, retired principal is getting Rs. 30,000 per month, retired lecturer is getting Rs 25,000 per month, non-teaching class-3 employees are getting Rs. 11,000 per month and non-teaching class-4 employees are getting Rs. 6,000.  This 5 percent increase will be made on the basic pension every year and no arrears will be paid. The employees will be given the benefit of notional pension.

He said that earlier, only the employees who retired after May 11, 1998 were being given pension.  On the demand of the employees who had retired before 1998, the Chief Minister decided to give an honorary pension to the teaching and non-teaching employees who had retired from January 1, 1988 to May 10, 1998.
