Marking the third day of Ramlila Utsav on Tuesday, the first meet of Lanka Dahan was showcased. Shri Ramlila Utsav is being organized by Madhya Pradesh Directorate of Culture from October 10 to 14 at Muktakash Manch of Ravindra Bhavan.
In the five-day long Ramlila festival, the artists of Leela Mandal-Rangrej Kala Sanskar Ujjain are giving presentations of various episodes of Ramkatha every day from 6.30 pm. On the third day, Sugriva Maitri, Bali slaughter, Setu Bandh, Ravana-Angad dialogue, Lanka Dahan, Kumbhakaran-Meghnath slaughter, Ravana slaughter, Shri Ram coronation event were staged. It was broadcasted live on the Department's YouTube channel. On the occasion of the festival, an exhibition of 50 paintings based on the story of Vanvasi Leela Natya Lekh is also organized from October 10 to 14, in which Leela Natya Bhaktimati Shabari has been presented in Cheriyalpatam style of Andhra Pradesh and Nishadraj Guhya in Nathdwara style of Rajasthan.Shri Ramlila Utsav begins with Shri Ram Aarti.
After this the meeting of Ram and Hanuman for the first time, Hanuman befriending Ram and Sugriva and Sugriva being told that his elder brother Bali had conspiratorially acquired his kingdom and left him in trouble, Ramchandra's reply to Sugriva. Assistance and the killing of Bali are important events staged.
