The ongoing construction of a liquid oxygen plant at the MKCG Medical College Hospital would be completed soon and a 20,000-litre liquid oxygen tanker would be installed.
An expert team from West Bengal arrived on Monday to oversee project. The tanker installation work would take a week's time, after which the Bengal team would leave Brahmapur. The tanker has been brought from Detain, said MKCG Hospital Superintendent Dr Santosh Kumar Mishra. The tanker would be connected through four rooms with a trail to ensure whether oxygen is passing to hospital beds or not. A contractual agency has been entrusted with charge of operating tanker. Later, MKCG authorities would operate it. "Oxygen will directly reach patients in all departments; there will be no need to carry oxygen cylinders to patients," said Dr Mishra.
