The body of a 42-year-old man with his throat slit was found in a room in west Delhi’s Ranhola area, police said on Sunday.
They identified the deceased as Pawan of Ranhola.
His sister Mamta, a resident of Peeragarhi village, called up the police control room on Friday night, saying Pawan’s phone had been switched off since morning.
She said her brother owned two buildings in Ranhola and that he was staying in one while he had rented out the other to a few families.
Mamta added that all tenants in the second building had locked their rooms from outside but she found a man lying on a bed in one of the rooms on the first floor.
The police later escorted Mamta and her husband to the building and found the body of Pawan in the room with his throat slit. All the tenants had fled, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Parvinder Singh said.
A case under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code was registered on Saturday. Efforts are on to nab them, the DCP said.
