Delhi Police has arrested a 30-year-old man on the charges of supplying illicit liquor in the national Capital.
The accused has been identified as Naresh Kumar, a resident of Rajasthan.
According to a senior police official, police team found that the illicit liquor, which was meant to be sold in Haryana only, was being transported from Bahadurgarh, Haryana to different parts of Delhi. “On Thursday, specific inputs were received that a man, who was involved in supplying liquor, would come from Moti Nagar side and would go to Trans Yamuna area for supplying liquor,” said the police official.
“Thereafter, a trap was laid near Shadipur Depot metro station and around 6.30 pm, a tempo was seen. When police tried to stop the tempo, its driver tried to escape, but was nabbed. Police checked the tempo and found 67 cartons were kept inside,” he added.
