A man who runs a tiffin centre in Raipur was taken into custody on Tuesday and interrogated after he sent a message threatening to kill Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his predecessor Raman Singh, police said.
Manish Jhabak was interrogated at the Civil Lines Police station here after he sent a message on Monday night to the mobile phone of Deputy Superintendent of Police Nasar Siddique, saying he will carry out the threat within 24 hours.
Siddique told the media said that the number was traced to Jhabak.
After lockdown, due to lack of work, he had faced economic crises and became depressed. During interrogation, he revealed that he sent the message to get attention as he thought he will be interrogated and released after an oral warning.
Siddique said he has been kept under custody for further interrogation. No past cases have been found registered against him.
