Man kills wife for not cooking food

Saturday, 27 November 2021 | PNS | Lucknow

Irked by his wife’s refusal to cook food, a man shot her dead and later surrendered to the local police confessing the murder, in Bareilly on Friday morning.

A case was registered and the assailant was sent to jail.

As per reports, Sandeep Sharma of Sardarnagar area of Bhamora was married to Premwati aka Neha three years ago. Post-marriage, the couple started having disputes over trivial issues. On Thursday night, Sandeep asked Neha to cook his favourite curry, but Neha prepared some other cuisine and served it to her husband. This incensed Sandeep and he started hurling expletives at Neha which made way to a heated argument.

On Friday morning, the matter took an unsavoury turn when an upset Neha refused to prepare breakfast. While leaving for his workplace, Sandeep asked for his tiffin to which Neha flatly refused to oblige. This led to an argument between the two and Sandeep suddenly picked up a pistol and opened fire at his wife, hitting Neha on her neck which caused instantaneous death.

When the neighbours converged on the scene, they found Neha lying dead on the floor. Meanwhile, Sandeep left his home and surrendered at the local police station.

In Auraiya, a woman assisted by her paramour, killed her husband and later burnt the victim’s body before throwing it in a secluded place to conceal the crime on Sunday.

On Friday morning some locals informed the police about the recovery of an unknown body on Phaphund-Dibiyapur bypass of Auraiya Sadar Kotwali area.

The police recovered a bottle of petrol, empty liquor vial from the spot. The face of the deceased was completely burnt to conceal his identity. A case was later registered and a probe was initiated.

During preliminary investigation, the deceased was identified as Anil Singh of Krishnanagar area of Bharthana in Etawah. He used to work at Mandi Samiti. The body was identified by the victim’s brother Lakhan Singh, who had contacted the police about the disappearance of his brother. He said that Anil had been living-in with Reshma for the last few years.

On Thursday, police picked up Reshma and after quizzing for several hours, she broke down and confessed to have killed Anil along with her paramour Kamlesh Nat. She disclosed that she had developed a relationship with Nat and since Anil objected to the liaison, they strangled him, doused his body with petrol and torched it. Later they dumped the body at a secluded place to conceal his identity and the crime.

On Friday, Kamlesh Nat was also arrested and sent to jail.
