Marriage stalled as groom found +ve

Saturday, 15 May 2021 | PNS | BALESWAR

A marriage, which was to be solemnised in Baliapal, was stalled at the nick of time as the groom was detected corona positive.

The groom, who was working in Haryana, returned to his village and he was lodged in a Covid Care Centre for 14 days. Although he was asymptotic, the sample collected came out positive on the day prior to wedding.

The local Anganwadi Worker and ASHA Worker informed the family members of the groom asking to defer the marriage, but they were reluctant and wanted to go ahead stating that all preparations had been made for marriage.

The health worker informed the matter to the local health authorities and the officials after visiting the house of the groom could convince them against the move. And the marriage was postponed, said reports.
