To expedite the ongoing development work in the Public Works Department (PWD), the state government on Thursday further sanctioned a budget of over Rs 115 crore for 25 ongoing projects.
According to an official communiqué released on Thursday evening, on the directions of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Rs 60.47 crore has been released for broadening and repair work on 14 projects of highways and other roads.
The projects are in Gorakhpur (3), Hamirpur (2) and one each in Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Mainpuri, Jaunpur, Mau, Kheri, Firozabad, Aligarh and Barabanki.
The release further said that besides the above, Maurya released Rs 55.79 crore for 11 ongoing projects which include two projects each in Farrukhabad, Varanasi and Prayagraj, and one each in Kanpur Dehat, Jalaun, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Amethi.
Maurya has directed officials to ensure that all the ongoing projects are completed in time while maintaining the quality of the work.
He said that senior officers supervising these projects would be held responsible in case of any negligence resulting in poor quality of work.
