With the aim of raising awareness among locals about the registration procedure of dog license in the corporation, the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) will commence the inspection of dog licenses in the city from today. According to the senior veterinary officer of the corporation Dr DC Tiwari, the corporation has formed four teams who will examine the dog licenses of the owners from Monday when the owners take their dogs out for a stroll which is mostly during mornings and evenings.
Tiwari said that the corporation plans to focus on raising awareness among locals rather than penalising them for not making the license.
However, he added that the fine from Rs 500 to Rs 5000 will be imposed on those who will not register for dog license within the given time even after repeated warnings.
