The Chhattisgarh government has laid emphasis on providing mental health services to Covid-19 patients through daily counselling.

The services will be extended at the dedicated Covid Hospitals and Covid Care Centres and to those in Home Isolation.

Neeraj Bansod, Director, Health Services, on Thursday conveyed this to all district Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHOs) and Civil Surgeon-cum-Hospital Superintendents.

Bansod said while all positive steps are being undertaken for treating Covid-19 patients, it has been found that some are showing symptoms of mental stress.

So, it has been decided to provide daily counselling to overcome the stress, said an official communication.

Experts will be involved in counselling.
