Mischief by the employees of a rice mill in Pilibhit led to the painful death of a 16-year-old minor boy.
The accused allegedly inserted the nozzle of an air compressor into the victim's rectum and inflated it which proved fatal for the boy.
According to reports from Pilibhit, the victim was employed in a rice mill in Pilibhit. His father, a resident of Puranpur Kotwali area, told the police that last Thursday, three workers of the rice mill inserted a high-power air compressor in his son's rectum and pumped compressed air into his body.
"My son was going to take lunch as usual last Thursday when the three labourers, identified as Amit, Suraj and Kamlesh, grabbed my son. Amit and Suraj held his son's hands while Kamlesh pumped air in his body by the rice mill's air compressor through his private parts," the father mentioned in his report lodged with the local police to initiate criminal proceedings against the accused.
The father claimed that his son immediately rushed back home and narrated his trauma so they gave him painkillers. As the teenager's health worsened, he was rushed to a hospital in the vicinity, but the doctors there failed to treat him. Following this, he was rushed to a private hospital in Bareilly, where he suffered a slow and painful death over two days, according to the police.
After the teenager's death on Saturday, his father lodged a complaint against the three accused in Pilibhit district. The police, on the basis of this complaint, registered a case against the three accused under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Two of them have been detained by the police and efforts are on to find out why the accused pumped air into the victim's body, police said.
In another incident, a 22-year-old youth was allegedly shot dead by unidentified persons in Anhera village in Pratapgarh district, police said on Tuesday.
According to the police, on Sunday night, the youth, identified as Harikesh Patel, was sleeping outside his house when unidentified persons opened fire at him and escaped. When his family members learnt about the incident on Monday morning, they took him to the hospital but the doctors pronounced him dead.
The family members filed a complaint in this regard with the local police in which they accused unknown persons for killing Harikesh. They also disclosed that they had no knowledge about their son's enmity with anyone.
A case was registered and the body was sent for post-mortem. Further investigations are on.
