Five members including four women of an interstate gang involved in duping job seekers in the name of facilitating jobs were nabbed by Cyber Cell Bhopal unit from Noida Uttar Pradesh; around 500 victims across several states were duped to the tune of over Rs 1 crore.
Police said that call centers were operated from two places by miscreants to target victims using fake website of renowned companies. From the gang police have recovered a laptop, 8 mobile phones, 5 ATM cards and one modem and router from the possession of gang.
The nabbed gang members were identified as Jitendra Kumar Tiwari alias Raj Tiwari (25), Kamini Tripathi (24) and Kajal Bhandhari (22) of New Delhi and Anjali Ojha (19) and Jyoti Singh (24) of Haryana.
Revealing the modus operandi gang told that they created website in the name of renowned companies Glassdoor and Work India Company and once a job aspirant would visit and fill form he would be sent with fake documents of Indigo Airlines, HDFC, ICICI bank and other organisations and would charge in the name of registration, file charges, insurance fee, agreement charges etc.
The action was taken after a Bhopal based complainant Sunil Malviya who was duped to the tune of Rs 42000 lodged complaint with the cyber crime cell and later in the investigation was nexus was unearthed.
During the investigation police have found that over 500 victims have been duped by the accused in different states and have collected over Rs 1 crore from the victims.
