During the presiding officer's conference, the Speaker of the Assembly, Girish Gautam, made a suggestion in front of the Om Birla that at present only the Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly is a woman, and accepting suggestion Nimaben Bhaveshbhai Acharya, the Speaker there, was made chairman in the presiding conference.

In his address during the session, Gautam said that many times there is debate and ruckus in the Vidhan Sabha. Important sessions like Question Hour also get disrupted by this. It should be the responsibility of all the presiding officers that there should be a meaningful dialogue instead of debate in the House for the welfare and development of the people of the state.

Now, looking at the experiences of history, we have to evaluate the challenges of the present on the basis of our assessment and decide the outline of the future.
