The Bhopalites enjoyed the calm and spontenepus Sufiyana musical evening on Thursday.
Under Gamak series Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy organised Mehfil-e-Sufiyana. Zulfikar Ali of Bhopal and Haleem Taj Qawwal of Jabalpur presented Ghazal and music in Mehfil-e-Sufiana programme. It was broadcasted live on the Department's YouTube channel.
The programme was moderated by Sharbani Banerjee. In the beginning of the programme Nusrat Mehdi, Director of Urdu Academy gave information about the program.
He said that as you all know that Sufiism and Urdu poetry have a close relationship.
The poets have given expression to it with great artistry and skill and the singers and artists have given spiritual payoff.
Therefore, Sufiana programs are often part of Urdu Academy's events. Even today, it is the endeavor of the Academy to connect Kalam associated with Sufism and the artists and ghazal singers associated with it in the Gamak programme.
The presentation was started by Bhopal-based artist Zulfiqar Ali. He started off with Dushyant Kumar's composition Yahan Marna toh laga rahega jee to lijiye, Faiz Ahmed Faiz's Naqsh-e-Mazi Mitte Mitte ...., Zafar Gorakhpuri Main Akela chala jaa raha tha main kahin ajnabee rahguzar ajnabee.
Jigar Moradabadi's Ishq Ki Dastaan Hai Pyare, Apni Apni Zubaan Hai Pyare..., ended his presentation with ghazals.
