NDA Govt committed to State’s Development: Pradhan

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday said that the NDA Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken several reformist steps in mines and minerals, which will give maximum benefit to States like Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Pradhan, a Rajya Sabha member, said that these reformist steps will boost employment, industry and business in these States. Pradhan, who was in the State capital on Saturday, also met Governor Droupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The Union Minister talking to media persons at BJP office and said that the NDA Government’s attitude towards Jharkhand has always remained positive. BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash and media in-charge Shivpujan Pathak were present at the meeting.

Pradhan said that many works related to steel are being done in Jharkhand. He further said, “During meeting with Chief Minister Hemant Soren works and performance of Bokaro Steel Plant, Tata Steel, Sindri Fertilizer Plant of Government of India, gas pipeline work under Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga in the state related to other petroleum related works are being executed. Specifically there was discussion to increase production of iron ore mines.” He said that Union Government and State Government should work together for the development of the State, which was discussed with the Chief Minister and the Governor.

Pradhan on his visit to Ranchi said that today is a historic day as the Country has launched the world's largest and cheapest immunization programme under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that under the immunization progarmme in the first phase 3 crore frontline workers will be vaccinated and in second phase 27 crore people will be vaccinated.

Pune based Serum Institute of India has manufactured Covishield and Bharat Biotech has manufactured Covaxin. The price of Covishield is Rs 200 per dose (for first 100 million doses), Rs 1,000 per dose thereafter at private outlets, while Bharat Biotech Covaxin cost is Rs 206 per dose.

Pradhan apart from official assignment also participated at Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) provincial session in Ranchi. He also had a meeting with State BJP president Deepak Prakash, organization general secretary Dharampal Singh, State general secretaries, Aditya Sahu  and Pradeep Verma about strengthening party organization.

Meanwhile, Pradhan on his visit to State Capital had to face people's protest as NSUI and Congress workers waved black flags to him on his arrival at Birsa Munda International Airport. Around a dozen Congress and NSUI workers tried to stop the convoy of Pradhan and even shouted slogans, which was protested by BJP workers who outnumbered the NSUI and Congress workers.
