Under the series of programme to celebrate 75th years of Indian Independence in the form of ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on theme of ‘Swachhata’ activities, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) organised a Swachhata Rally focused on “Say No To - Single Use Plastic “ in and around area of Sarojini Nagar market and residential colonies, New Delhi.
NDMC Vice Chairman Satish Upadhyay appealed to the traders’ association to ensure every shopkeeper should drop the garbage in the nearby dustbin instead of footpath or roadside to make the city neat, clean and environment friendly.
He also urged the shopkeepers that they will neither litter nor let others litter, so as to set an example for visitors of markets.
The member of NDMC Vishakha Sailani urged all shopkeepers and traders to be active in reducing the single use of plastic and help in achieving NDMC’s first rank in the upcoming Swachh Sarvekshan
