In view of the rampaging second wave of the pandemic, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) organised a webinar on emotional and physical well-being of its teaching community.
The key speaker, Dr Sumit Dubey, Deputy Commandant (Medical) ITBP, elaborated upon the various issues regarding Covid-19 symptoms, treatment, home isolation, home remedies and vaccination etc. He further said that during this difficult phase, when normal life has been hit by the pandemic, it is vital for everyone to be mentally and physically healthy.
Eminent psychologist Dr Geetanjali Kumar, explained the chronological effects of the Covid-19 pandemic which altered the way we all look at life. Most of us are suffering from varied psychological disorders like anxiety, loneliness, depression and pessimism, among others. In the webinar, she focussed on how mental health can be maintained during this difficult time. She specifically mentioned how mental health was responsible for the declining oxygen level of Covid-19 patients. The webinar was chaired by DP Singh, Director (education) NDMC, who said that spirituality was key to come out of this depressing phase.
